I have been at the Tron with Kansas, working on the script with lovely actors Sadie Dixon-Spain, Jessica Phillippi and Beth Frieden. This is part of a week long festival of new writing happening at the Tron in June.
Rippling was a haunting portrayal of a woman yearning for the human contact of the big cities, compared to the isolation of her island home. Daisy Jo Lucas’s retreat was a comedic treat in a yogic, detox retreat full of people who needed the calm and silence, but weren’t terribly open to it, and Isla Robertson’s Coffin Race was an incredibly exciting blurring of genres with a staged radio play brought to life with a cast of people adding all sorts of exciting sound effects.
Above is part of tech, where we were furiously trying to light each scene before being kicked out for the next person to light their show (the rush of a festivals!) and next to this, the exciting announcements in the local paper. Having seen all the shows on Kansas day, I can say that they were an absolute treat.
